The United Way of Guelph and Wellington is requesting proposals for Social Service Programs that address existing and emerging community needs in the following areas:

Health & Independent Living - programs the focus on promoting improved quality of life for individuals with chronic health problems and disabilities. Examples of programs include assistive devices services, support groups and community rehabilitation and integration programs.

Providing Support for Seniors - programs that support independence, minimize institutionalism and help seniors enjoy greater quality of life. Examples of programs include physical recreation activities, opportunities for social interaction and mobility supports.

United Way of Guelph and Wellington will distribute funds:

  • On the basis of community need.
  • To a specific program within an agency.
  • On a multi-year basis (This funding cycle will start in January 2009).
  • To programs serving Guelph and Wellington County.
  • To agencies with registered charitable status.

The application deadline for program funding for 2008 is June 11th, 2008.
