Setting the priorities. Developing our community.
Community needs have been separated into six categories: Providing Basic Needs; Creating a Better Community; Reaching Children & Youth; Reaching Individuals & Families; Promoting Health & Independent Living; and Providing Support for Seniors.
Each year, two need categories are given the greatest consideration by the Social Planning Committee, who update the research, and the Fund Distribution Committee, who choose which applicants will receive funding. The priorities are disclosed every year in the Fund Allocations Application and Manual. Programs are funded on a three-year cycle.
