Now Accepting Applications for the 2nd Annual Winegard Awards

In partnership with the University of Guelph and the Volunteer Centre of Guelph/Wellington, the United Way is calling for nominations for the 2nd annual Dr. William Winegard Exemplary Volunteer Involvement Awards. These awards, held in honour of former University of Guelph president Dr. William Winegard, annually recognize the significant community involvement of a University of Guelph student, staff, and faculty member.

Nominees must be current U of G staff, faculty, or students who have devoted significant time and effort through volunteer involvement with community organizations including municipal boards, community fundraising, community social health and service agencies, and other non-profit organizations. Nomination packages are available online at www.volunteerguelphwellington.on.ca and should be submitted by March 20, 2008. The awards will be presented on April 3rd in preparation for the annual National Volunteer Week which is being held April 27th to May 3rd  celebrating this year’s theme “From Compassion to Action”.
