United Way Requesting Funding Proposals from Community Groups

The United Way of Guelph & Wellington is currently requesting proposals for Social Service Programs in Guelph and Wellington County that address existing and emerging community needs in the following areas:
 
Children and Youth: programs that focus on improving the social well being of children and youth. Examples of programs include literacy, mentoring, recreation, crime prevention, and after-school programs.
 
Individuals and Families: programs that aim to enhance the social and economic well-being of adults and families. Examples of programs include literacy, parenting, family and financial counseling, support for victims of abuse, and bereavement support.
 
Multiculturalism: programs that promote an inclusive and welcoming community. Examples of programs include settlement services, language supports, anti-racism, and employment assistance.
 
United Way of Guelph & Wellington will distribute funds:

  • On the basis of community need
  • To a specific program within an agency
  • On a multi-year basis (This funding cycle will start in January 2008)
  • To programs serving Guelph and Wellington County
  • To agencies with registered charitable status

Completed application forms are due on Friday, June 8, 2007.
