Campaign Material Sponsorship
This year, we will be focusing on the theme of “my community”, a strategy developed by United Way of Canada and localized by our graphic designer. This new theme expresses the belief that our community can reach its possibilities by working together. Below are just a few examples of how your organization can link your corporate identity with this theme that forms a powerful, emotional appeal to our community’s sense of engagement and citizenship.
In addition to the benefits previously listed, sponsoring one of the following materials will include the benefits listed below:
- Your corporate logo featured prominently on the material.
- Your corporate logo and link to your corporate website featured on the United Way of Guelph and Wellington's website's sponsorship page throughout the campaign (September through December).
- Reserved seating for two representatives of your organization at our closing luncheon.
Campaign Brochure:

Sponsorship: $7,000
Key audiences: Distributed to the hundreds of workplaces that host a workplace campaign within Guelph and Wellington County reaching owners, managers, and employees. This material is also available at all key events and in media kits.
Details: This material gives the sponsor the benefits of reaching a significant amount of businesses throughout all sectors of the Guelph and Wellington community. This four fold brochure describes the needs that are present in our community and describes how giving to United Way provides donors the opportunity to make a difference in their community. As well, this material lists all of the agencies who are receiving funding in 2008.
Leadership Brochure:
Approximate # distributed: 1,000
Sponsorship: $3,000
Key audiences: CEOs, senior management, professionals, and others targeted for "leadership" donations of $1,000 or more.
Details: By sponsoring this material, you will be reinforcing your positive reputation as a good corporate citizen and integral part of the Guelph and Wellington community to key decision makers in both the private and public sector. This material describes the significance of giving at the leadership level ($1,000 or more) and shows the significant contribution that can be made to the community by giving at this level. The names of our leadership donors are also listed in this brochure.
Agency Booklet:
Approximate # distributed: 1,000
Sponsorship: $3,000
Key audiences: This material is available to key volunteers and community members involved in the campaign.
Details: This booklet describes all of the 84 funded programs that are meeting the significant needs within the community. By sponsoring this booklet, you will be linking your organization's name with the essential services that these programs provide (many of which you or your organization might currently or one day use).
Employee Campaign Coordinator Guide:
Approximate # distributed: 500
Sponsorship: $2,000
Key audiences: These guides are distributed to all Employee Campaign Coordinators (ECC), who are individuals who run campaigns within their workplace. ECCs are often HR professionals, managers, or other motivated employees.
Details: By sponsoring this material, you will be able to reach a significant amount of employees who are dedicated to the United Way. This material is designed to give ECCs the tools to run a successful workplace campaign.

Key audiences: Donors (potential and current), volunteers, media, agency representatives, and more!
Details: By sponsoring this website, your logo will be displayed on the website's home page showing your organization's support for the United Way and will be visible to a significant number of key audiences. In 2006, our website was developed to communicate our three programs: Social Planning, Campaign, and Fund Distribution.
Event Sponsorship
In addition to the benefits listed above, sponsoring one of the following events will benefit your organization in the following ways:
- Your corporate logo will be featured in the event invitation.
- Your corporate logo will be placed prominently on the front cover of the event program.
- A sponsorship plaque for your office detailing your sponsorship support will be provided.
- Your corporate logo and link to your corporate website will be featured on the United Way of Guelph and Wellington's website throughout the campaign (September through December).
- Your support will be publicly acknowledged at the event.
- Your company profile will be available in the media kit at the event.
- Reserved seating for two respresentatives of your organization at the United Way's closing luncheon.
Kick Off Event:
Sponsorship: $3,000
Approximate number in attendance: 200
Invitees include:
- Municipal, provincial, and federal government representatives;
- Local corporate leaders;
- Representatives from local media.
Date: September
Event Details:Each year, the United Way of Guelph and Wellington kicks off it's annual campaign through an exciting and motivating event in September. This event has often been featured on the front page of local news papers.
Campaign Closing Luncheon:
Sponsorship: $5,000
Approximate number in attendance: 300
Invitees include: Employee Campaign Coordinators, CEOs, key city officials, and key donors.
Date: December
Event Detials:This event, which will be hosted at Guelph Place in December, is an opportunity for the United Way to recognize volunteers and corporate support and to thank the community for their support. It is at this event that the campaign achievement is announced.
